Canucks Edged By Red Wings In A Shootout
Vancouver Canucks fell to the Detroit Red Wings 4-3 in a shootout Thursday night.
Alex Burrows, Mason Raymond and Ryan Kesler had the goals for Vancouver while Pavel Datsyuk scored the shootout winner for Detroit. Danny Cleary led the Wings with a goal and an assist while Brad Stuart picked up two assists.
Roberto Luongo made 40 saves in a losing cause while Jimmy Howard picked up a League-high 32nd win.
Chris Higgins was a late scratch with the flu; Andrew Alberts slotted in on the fourth line.

Late in the first period Ryan Kesler tied it up at one with his 15th of the season. Kesler 1-1
It took the Canucks more than 12 minutes into the second period to register their first shot of the frame.
Jiri Hudler had the lone goal as Detroit went into the third period with a 2-1 lead.
Coach Alain Vigneault shuffled the lines and it proved to work as Alex Burrows tied it up midway through the third. Burrows 2-2
It only took two minutes for the Red Wings to regain their one-goal lead with a goal from Drew Miller. Miller 3-2 Red Wings
Mason Raymond tied it up at three with his 6th goal of the season at15:36 of the third. Raymond 3-3
Nothing was decided in overtime so they needed a shootout. Howard stops Edler in shootout
Pavel Datsyuk got one past Luongo, Raymond was stopped by Howard then Jiri Hudler needed to score for the win. Hudler Shootout goal – Red Wings win 4-3
