Krys Kolanos recorded his second straight multi-point game, Danny Taylor earned his first win since November 23rd and the Heat snapped a three game losing streak in front of 10,833 fans.

The Heat outshot the Wolves 8-4 in the first period and killed one minute and 21 seconds of a Wolves’ two-man advantage to keep the game scoreless through 20 minutes.

Ben Street opened the scoring for the Heat at 9:25 of the second period. Brett Olson and T.J. Brodie earned assists on the play. Krys Kolanos scored his third goal in two games 1:55 later to give the Heat a 2-0 lead. Joe Piskula and Ben Walter picked up assists on the goal.

The Wolves tied the game at 11:54 of the third period when Zach Miskovic recorded his second of the season. Jordan Schroeder and Brad Hunt drew assists on the goal. Immediately after the goal Heat Head Coach Troy G. Ward called a timeout and the Heat responded 24 seconds later with the game-winning goal. Kolanos earned his second point of the night, assisting on Paul Byron’s fourth goal of the season. Chris Breen drew the other assist on the play.

Danny Taylor started his second straight game, stopping 25 of 27 shots in the victory. The Heat and Wolves both recorded 27 shots on the night.

The Heat penalty kill negated both Wolves man advantages, and the Heat failed to score on their only power play opportunity.
