Lions Playoff Tickets on Sale Monday

Lions clinch a home date with win Friday over Edmonton

The BC Lions Football Club is pleased to announce that tickets to a possible home playoff game to be played at BC Place on Sunday, November 11th (Western Semi-Final) or Sunday, November 18th (Western Final) will go on sale Monday, October 15th beginning at 10:00 am – fans can purchase playoff tickets by calling 1-855-GO-LIONS or visiting ticketmaster.ca.

Following the club’s win over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats by a 37-17 margin this past Friday and the Saskatchewan Roughriders loss to the Edmonton Eskimos on Saturday, the Lions can now clinch first place in the West Division with a win over the Eskimos this Friday night at BC Place.

Currently ranking first in the West Division with an 11-4 regular season record to date, the Lions hold a two-win lead in the standings over the second place Calgary Stampeders, as well as a season series advantage over the Stamps.

“As fans of the Lions know from last year, there is no stadium in the CFL that matches the energy and excitement of BC Place during the playoffs,” said Lions president and CEO Dennis Skulsky. “We want nothing more than to represent this great province in the 100th Grey Cup and the first step is securing a berth in the Western Final with a win this Friday night.”

With just two home games remaining in the 2012 regular season, the Lions host the Edmonton Eskimos at BC Place at 7:00 pm on Friday, October 19th in the club’s CFL PINK tilt presented by TELUS.

The Eskimos hold the distinction of being the only team to defeat the Leos at home since the club’s return to the renovated stadium last season and fans are encouraged to attend Friday’s game to support the Lions in their battle to claim first place in the West Division while lending a hand to a very worthy cause.

“Our fans are a huge part of our success so far this season,” said head coach Mike Benevides. “There is a lot of work to be done between now and the playoffs, but every one of our players know that our stadium can be a huge advantage for us moving forward and it starts this Friday night versus a very good Edmonton team.”

As part of the Lions’ participation in the CFL PINK initiative, partial proceeds from the sale of pink Lions merchandise will be donated to the BC chapter of the Canadian Cancer Society.

The 11-4 Lions host Edmonton on Friday. TEAM1410 pregame show is at 5:00, kickoff at 7:00.
