Pavel Bure on TEAM1040

Bure talks Hall of Fame, Jersey Retirement, KHL & More

Former Canucks forward Pavel Bure, who will be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame on Monday, joined BMac and Taylor on Wednesday afternoon on TEAM1040.

Bure finally got the call to the hall this spring, after a career in which he twice scored 60 goals with the Canucks, and hit the 50-goal plateau three more times.

Overall, Bure scored 437 goals and 779 points in an injury-shortened, but highlight-filled, NHL career.

It was also reported late Monday night by Jason Botchford of Scotty & Company and Province Sports that the Vancouver Canucks are considering retiring Bure’s #10. Francesco Aquilini is reportedly set to have dinner with Bure over the weekend where he is expected to pop the big question.

Bure chatted about the Hall induction, his time in Vancouver & the KHL and the potential of having his number retired in Vancouver with Barry and Donny.

Retire the number. Pavel was the best, and still is that has ever played for the Canucks. He left on a bad note yes. But, he is the one that scored the series winner against Calgary and that got us the momenum to get to the Stanley Cup.

  4. Terry says:

My favourite player in Canucks history and i’ve been a fan since 1974. Pavel was the fastest, the most exciting and the purest goal scorer in canucks history. He is #1. Forget the rest.
