The Vancouver Giants played one poor period of hockey, and paid the price with a 4-0 loss Friday night in Everett.

The loss dropped the Giants to 7-19-0, worst in the Western Conference.   Everett moves to 11-17-2.

The first period resulted in no goals, as Everett outshot Vancouver 11-6.  The Silvertips appeared to have a goal midway through the period, but officials waved it off.

Everett would break the game open in the second period.

Carson Stadnyk scored on a set play off an offensive-zone faceoff just 2:49 into the period, giving the Silvertips a 1-0 lead.

Joshua Winquist added midway through the frame, as his quick shot snuck past Giants goalie Payton Lee.

And Winquist wasn’t done, as he added a power-play goal with just 1:12 to go in the frame, giving Everett a 3-0 lead they would take into the third period.

The Giants couldn’t  get on the scoresheet in the final period, as Everett added a late empty-net goal to seal the 4-0 win.

Payton Lee took the loss, despite 22 saves.

The Giants are back in Vancouver Saturday night, hosting the Tri-City Americans.

It’s Trevor Linden night, as the Giants will honour the former Canuck – who had many of his best moments at Pacific Coliseum – during the game.

Tri-City is 16-10-2, third in the US Division, and lost 3-2 Friday night in Kamloops.

TEAM1040 has it, with pregame coverage at 6:00. Opening faceoff is at 7:00.
