Vancouver Whitecaps FC announced Thursday the mutual parting of ways with director of soccer operations Tom Soehn.
The club’s current technical team will assume the director of soccer operations responsibilities.
“Tommy played an important role in building our club as we transitioned from the North American second tier to Major League Soccer,” said Bob Lenarduzzi, Whitecaps FC president. “We are thankful for his hard work and dedication during his three years with the club and wish him all the best with his future endeavours.”
The native of Chicago, Illinois, joined Whitecaps FC in January 2010 and helped develop and manage the club’s player scouting, identification, and recruitment systems. Midway through the 2011 season, Soehn assumed the responsibility as interim head coach for the remainder of the club’s inaugural season.
“I enjoyed my experiences in Vancouver and look forward to the next opportunity,” added Soehn.
