TEAM 1040 Shows: Sekeres & Price
MIDDAYS: 10AM – 2PM
Welcome to the all new Sekeres & Price Show on TEAM 1040!

Matt Sekeres
Matthew Sekeres begins a new chapter in his broadcast career as co-host of the all new Sekeres & Price Midday Show on TEAM 1040. Formerly the The Globe and Mail’s national sports correspondent in Vancouver, Matt has plenty of experience covering the NHL’s Canucks, the CFL’s Lions, MLS’s Whitecaps, and the British Columbia sports scene. Born in Montreal and raised primarily in Ottawa, Matt has worked for three dailies and for TSN, covering Stanley Cup playoffs, Super Bowls, Olympic Games, Grey Cups and NBA Finals. He moved to Kitsilano, Canada’s best neighbourhood, in 2007, and enjoys travelling, music, entertaining and scuba diving in his spare time.

Blake Price
Moving from his evening time slot of the previous few years, Blake Price now joins Sekeres from 11am to 1pm each day in the Midday Show, bringing his vast experience to show for 2 hours of dedicated sports/Canucks talk. Blake was born in Winnipeg and raised a Jets fan (which explains a lot), but after spending 13 of the last 17 years in Vancouver (and losing the Jets), he now considers the Canucks his hometown team. TEAM Radio is Blake’s second tour of duty in talk radio, after spending nearly 3 years at the defunct MOJO Sports Radio. Before that, he spent a downright chilly winter working on TV in Saskatoon, a year on Sportspage in Vancouver, and then 3 years in Toronto working for TSN. And he continues to spout off on TV, working with CTV Sports and TSN.
Along with his time in the Midday Show, Blake will continue as the permanent Pre & Post Game host for the Vancouver Canucks Broadcasts on TEAM 1040.

- Can’t dismiss the Flyers but look for Rick Nash to dissect every offer that’s put to him
- Can’t imagine that Mike Gillis hasn’t called the Blue Jackets- looks like a deal that would put Corey Schneider into play
- A trade to LA for Jack Johnson and others would be a very strong option
- Any contending team could that could package a deal together will be a deal that’s listened to
- Dealing Nash will have to start a rebuilding process forColumbusso it has to put them in a strong position moving forward
- Teams are a lot tighter with their players getting ready for play-offs so they have to be willing to part with key pieces
