TEAM 1040 SHOWS

Blake Price was born in Winnipeg and raised a Jets fan (which explains a lot), but after spending 13 of the last 17 years in Vancouver (and losing the Jets), he now considers the Canucks his hometown team.   TEAM 1040 is Blake's second tour of duty in talk radio, after spending nearly 3 years at the defunct MOJO Sports Radio.  Before that, he spent a downright chilly winter working on TV in Saskatoon, a year on Sportspage in Vancouver, and then 3 years in Toronto working for TSN. And he continues to spout off on TV, working with CTV Sports and TSN.

From North Vancouver to the NHL, Dave Tomlinson’s 15 year pro career has had it all. With the Toronto Maple Leafs and Grant Fuhr’s bruises, to the Winnipeg Jets and Teemu Selanne’s goals, to the Florida Panthers and Ed Jovanovski’s hits…Dave played with and against the greats in the sport.  Ten years of pro hockey in Europe also gave Dave another perspective on the game, and appearances with Team Canada made him proud to wear the flag. Despite loosing a few teeth, wrecking a shoulder and twisting a wrist beyond repair, Dave gained so much more, that it was worth every bump along the way.

Joined by ex-NHLer Dave Tomlinson each day during the NHL season, Blake Price now takes on the TEAM 1040 mid afternoon show, weekdays, 10am – 2pm.

Despite all the success, New Jersey is not used to having a player like him

Coach Lemaire knows his role is to score goals so doesn’t expect him to play too much defense

Zubrus will be centering Kovalchuk and Langenbrunner tonight

Kovalchuk will have to make some adjustments to play the New Jersey style

Some players like to return home to play

Franzen situation – best thing for him to take Olympics off and fully heal from injury

Senators 10 game win streak – getting good goaltending, injured players returning to lineup and good players playing well (Spezza, Alfredsson)

Cody Hodgeson back injury and his future in the NHL

Mitchell will likely not play on the road trip

His 2nd concussion (last time missed 10 games)
