Y.P. Lee was nominated for the MLS Goal of the Week in week 8 of the Major League Soccer season. With Vancouver and Columbus tied 0-0 late, Lee took a free kick that caught Crew goalkeeper Andy Gruenebaum off-guard, sailing over his head and into the back of the net to give Vancouver a 1-0 lead an eventual win.
Lee is the third ‘Caps to be up for the Goal of the Week nominations. Camilo has been nominated twice, while Sebastien Le Toux has earned one nomination.
“My goal was lucky,” The former Korean international said after the match, “Lucky goal for me and the team. I went to try for strong cross but I score”.
