Bobby Wagner Comes Back Home to the Seahawks
A one-year deal worth US$7 million gets Wagner to come back to the Seahawks after Seattle released him. Quandre Diggs and Tyler Locket, his teammates, announced this on Twitter, and it has been confirmed by the NFL Network and ESPN. According to a person with knowledge of the agreement, Bobby Wagner has signed a one-year contract to return to the Seahawks, the team where he first rose to prominence as a linebacker in the NFL.
After being taken by Seattle in the second round of the 2012 draft, Wagner played his first ten seasons of professional football with the Seahawks. During his time in Seattle, when he was frequently considered one of the league’s top middle linebackers, he was chosen for the first-team All-Pro six times.
Seattle had already signed Devin Bush to a one-year contract in free agency, but further information was still needed. Enter Wagner, which was a All-Pro second-team pick last season playing for his hometown Los Angeles Rams. He recorded 140 tackles for the Rams and begun all 17 games for them, but he was released by the team earlier this offseason when Los Angeles began its rebuilding process.
